On Way to Arenal

We woke to rain in Tortugero, and in the soft drizzle, said farewell to the Evergreen Lodge, sad to go.  Our boat "taxi," back to where we met our bus, was fun.  We were surprised when, about half an hour in, we heard a siren behind us.  Our driver wasn't being pulled over for speeding, it was a river ambulance!
From the riverside, we loaded up on our bus after a joyful reunion with our marvelous bus driver.  Our trip across the country revealed lush countryside, and a glimpse into a banana plantation and packing plant.  It was fascinating to see the banana-trains brought into processing, and the hands of bananas marked for division.  Bananas have to be perfect, or they cannot be shipped.
Another stop brought us to a delicious lunch, and another, to see large Iguanas in tree tops, lured by the local villagers bribes of fresh vegetables. A stop in La Fortuna for some shopping, then we arrived at our gorgeous hotel with close up views of the Arenal Volcano.
